Today we're taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Camera Backup System here on a 2010 Ford F-250. with the Hopkins Smart Camera backup system installed it's gonna be a huge help to those of us out there on the road that don't have backup camera systems in here. So driving around, I don't have towing mirrors. I just have standard single plane mirrors and I keep them pointed down towards the back tires of my pickup truck so that way I can use them to line up in parking spots backing up the trailers. But that's also a little unsafe just because I don't really see what's going on next to me. more

Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2008 Ford F-150- Video

Hi there F-150 owners today on your 2008 Ford F-150. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Hopkins rear view camera system. This backup camera system is going to install behind your license plate, and make it easy for you to see when backing up as well as easily see your hitch ball in your new camera system. This makes it easier to line up your truck with your trailer when getting it set up, so you don't need a spotter at the back. Some other features I like about this camera are the grid lines on it to help show a straight path when backing up, as well as the audible blind spot detection. Rear View Safety Backup Camera System Installation - 2005 Ford Escape- Video

Today in our 2005 Ford Escape, we'll be installing the rearview safety backup camera system with a mirror monitor and license plate mounted camera. Part #RVS-778718N. We'll turn our key on. The green LED comes on on our mirror, we know we have power. Place our vehicle in reverse and our backup camera comes on with our grid distance warning shown on the display. You can see we have a very clear and large display on our backup camera to show us what's going on in our mirror. We can adjust the brightness on our mirror by pressing the power button here quickly, releasing it to get the desired level that we want. Leave it at 50 because it's right in the middle. If we want to turn the mirror off, we can just hold down the power button and it shuts off. more

Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2013 Ford F-150- Video

Today in our 2013 Ford F150, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch backup camera and hitch aligner system, part number HM50002. Right now, we have it in hitch mode. It's going to give us this V shape. It's going to help us line up the ball, which you can see right here at the bottom of our screen, to our trailer. Now, as we back up, you'll see it starts to go from the green to the yellow, which means we're getting within five or six inches of our target. As we get closer, it's going to go to red, and that's going to let us know we're very close to our target, within about an inch and a half of our target. Now, we're going to take it from our tow mode and put it into everyday mode, which will change our lines in the back to a more squared off pattern. more

Here on our 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch back up camera and Hitch and Lighter system. Part number HM50002. Here's what your camera looks like once it's installed with your sensors. It will go right where your license plate goes. Now we're going to back up to our trailer and you can see it is in hitch mode, which is where there's a point at the bottom. It'll help us line up to our trailer ball. You can watch as we get closer it's going to go into the green line, which is a pre-detection mode, then it'll go into the yellow, which is your caution, and once it get's to the red that's going to put you within an inch or so from your target area. Now we see here in everyday mode where it's kind of squared out. more

Hopkins Back Up Camera Installation - 2011 Ford F-150- Video

Today in the 2011 Ford F-150 we're going to be installing and taking a look at the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part number HM50002. Now that we have it installed, we can see what it's going to look like when you start to back up. As you get closer, it'll start beeping. In the hitch mode it keeps you centered on the ball to help you line up your coupler with your ball mount. Once it goes to a solid noise, and the red starts flashing, that'll put you right over the top of your ball. This is what it's going to look like in everyday mode. As you get closer it'll start to beep, and will flash. more

Today on our 2006 Ford F250 Super Duty we'll be installing and taking a look at the Hopkins Smart Hitch back-up camera, part number HM50002. Now here's what our Hopkins back-up camera display looks like once it's installed. Now as we back up to our trailer with the hitch alignment system on, it will not only give us a visual look but also an audible alert. We also have the option of going through two different choices of the hitch alignment system, both giving audible alerts as we get closer to our trailer or object. Today on our 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty, we're going to be installing part number HM50002, Hopkins Smart hitch backup camera and hitch aligner. All right, this is what the smart hitch camera looks like when it's installed on our truck. You can see how it acts as a replacement bracket for your license plate, and it fits inside, and has our camera right here, and two backup sensors here and here. There's a cable that gets ran from here up along the frame and up into the cab of the truck. Hopkins Rear View Camera Installation - 2011 Ford F-150- Video

Today on our 2011 Ford F-150 we'll be installing the Hopkins Rear View Camera with Back Up Sensors, with a 2-1/2" LCD Screen, part number HM60195VA. We'll go ahead and start by opening the driver's door and we'll need to remove the door seal as well as lift the carpet up a little bit. Before you begin you want to kind of take a look underneath your vehicle and see if you can find any sort of grommet or anything like that, that you might be able to push the wire up through when you get up close to the front part of the cab of the vehicle. As you can see here, here's the area that we're going to pull the wire through the floor pan. Before we pull the wire through, we're going to put a little electrical tape on the end of the wire to protect any of the fittings to keep from getting any dirt or other debris in it. Once we've done that we'll go ahead and fish it up from the underside of the vehicle, pulling it through enough that we can make our connection once we mount our LCD screen up on the dash area. Now we'll go ahead and go back underneath the vehicle and route our wires to the back, keeping in mind you want to keep away from any sharp edges, moving parts or areas that may become hot. While routing to the back of the vehicle we went ahead and used some zip ties to help secure it. Next we'll need to go ahead and move to the license plate area. First we'll need to remove the existing license plate. more

Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2006 Ford F-150- Video

Today on our 2006 Ford F-150, we'll be installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Camera and Sensor System for hassle-free hook-ups, part number HM50002. As you will see here with the engine running, whenever you put the vehicle into reverse, the monitor automatically comes on. When you shift into neutral, or drive, or park, anything but reverse, the monitor automatically goes off. Now, you will see here, it's backing up to a trailer. The closer you get, the louder the beeps get, and it also goes from green into the red. Now to begin with, we've already removed the license plate from this particular vehicle. First, we're going to go ahead and install the camera and the backup sensors where the license plate will go. more

Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Installation - 2004 Ford F-250- Video

Today on our 2004 Ford F-250 well be installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera, part number HM50002. To begin our install well first go ahead and mount the license plate bracket with camera and backup sensor. Note as we put the bracket into position well feed the wiring pigtail that comes from the bracket between the hitch and the rear tailgate. This will feed it underneath the vehicle. Well use the new hardware provided to secure the bracket to the bumper. Now with the bracket secured well move underneath the vehicle. Well take the new wiring harness and plug into the manufacturers seven-pole. To plug into the seven-pole connector well press on the connector lock and remove it from the seven-pole connector. more

Today on our 1999 Ford F150, we're going to be installing the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera, part number HM50002. Now we're going to begin here at the back of the vehicle. Now this vehicle does have a factory 7 way connection point, so we will be tying in with that. To begin with though, we'll go ahead and remove our license plate here. Go ahead and take out the original screws. Now we're going to be replacing the factory license plate screw with these longer Phillip's head screws. more

Accele Electronics 4-Sensor Backup Sensor System Installation - 2012 Ford F-150- Video

Today on this 2012 Ford F150 SuperCrew cab we're going to install part number Bu500. This is the Accele Electronics four sensor vehicle backup system. Now in this case we're putting it on the front to help the customer out with some depth perception when he's parking his truck. First off we'll go head and measure out where we're going to put our sensors. This is one of our sensors right here. We've decided we're going to put it on this edge of the bumper. To make things easy to line up, we'll use a straight edge and made a mark on the bumper right here. more

Peak Wireless Back-Up Camera Installation - 2003 Ford F-250- Video

Today on this 2003 Ford F250, were gonna install part number PK015737 from Peak. Now this is the wireless backup camera monitor. Our camera is gonna get mounted just like this. You can mount it flat onto the license plate but they also give you spacers which allows you to tilt it as well. Now, when we install it to the spacers, youll notice that this line is at an angle. You can use that to point the camera up or down. more

Hopkins Rear View Camera Installation - 2001 Ford Excursion- Video

Today on this 2001 Ford Excursion, we are going to show you how to install the rear view camera system part number HM60195VA. The first thing we want to do before we get started is to go ahead and take all of the components out of the packaging. There are three different pieces that we are going to be using here to hook up our system. The first part is our new license plate mounting bracket which holds not only our back up sensors but our rear view camera as well. Inside the cab, we will be mounting our new camera. And in between the two we have this long lead of wiring harness. The red wire on this we are going to hook into the reverse light on the vehicle. Then the black wire is going to be grounded to the vehicle. So we are going to start at the rear of the vehicle and go ahead and figure out how we are going to hook into the reverse wire on the vehicle. Normally you would go ahead and hook in behind the taillights. However, this particular vehicle does have a factory installed tow package and this tow package does have a reverse wire hooked into it. So we are actually going to tap into there. In fact, all of the wires of the tow package up and around, there is actually a disconnect point right behind the license plate area. So I am going to go ahead and disconnect there and go ahead and wire my wires in. So what I have done is actually take the connector here and I popped it off of its mounting clip. And, it is hard to see here, but there is a release on the top side of that. If you press that down and pull away, you can separate the two pieces. Now what I can do is take the wired end and go ahead and bring it out underneath the vehicle so that it is easier to work with. 1:27 more
